Large Print Sudoku (Free Printable)

These sudoku puzzles print one to a page on A4 or US Letter paper, with big squares about 2 cm (3/4 inch) wide. There is plenty of room to write each number clearly.

• 40 puzzles in four levels, 10 puzzles per level
• Every puzzle has exactly one solution
• Every puzzle can be solved by logic alone. You never need to guess
• Each puzzle comes with a hint and the full answer on a separate page

Choose a level

• Beginner (★☆☆☆): you only need to look inside one 3×3 box at a time. A good place to start.
• Easy (★★☆☆): you also look along whole rows and columns.
• Medium (★★★☆): you use the idea "this number must be in this row of the box" to rule out other squares.
• Hard (★★★★): you look for pairs, where two squares must hold the same two numbers between them.

How to play

1. Write a number from 1 to 9 in each empty square.
2. Each row must have the numbers 1 to 9, once each.
3. Each column must have the numbers 1 to 9, once each.
4. Each 3×3 box (outlined with thick lines) must have the numbers 1 to 9, once each.

Why the hint and answer are on a separate page

Page 1 of each PDF is the puzzle by itself. Page 2 has the hint at the top and the full answer below it.

• You can solve without the answer in view, so you will not see it by accident.
• When you get stuck, the hint points to the spot where most people get stuck, without giving the whole puzzle away. Lay a sheet of paper over the lower half of page 2 to keep the answer covered while you read the hint.
• In a group, you can hand out page 1 to everyone and keep page 2 for checking at the end.

The hints are written by the program that checks the puzzles. It solves each puzzle the way a person would, trying the easiest technique first.
